ARC Clean Technology Developing Advanced Small Modular Nuclear Reactors Raised Series B Financing

ARC Clean Technology, a U.S.-based company developing advanced small modular nuclear reactors (aSMRs), has raised Series B financing in a funding round with participation from Cleantech Ventures, Xplor Ventures, Banpu Ventures, Hennessy Capital Group, Core Synergy, YEO Technology, and investors from the energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors.

ARC Clean Technology is a clean energy technology company developing the ARC-100, an advanced small modular reactor that provides safe and economical carbon-free power. The modular design of the ARC-100 delivers 100 megawatts of energy for grids, industrial applications, and rapidly growing AI data centers. With offices in the U.S. and Canada, the company is part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program (ARDP), which supports the accelerated development of small modular reactors.

Based on ARC’s proven sodium-cooled fast reactor technology, the company’s advanced reactor design addresses the growing demand from global companies and institutions seeking reliable, continuous, and clean energy for AI data centers, industrial facilities, and grid applications.

ARC will use the new investment to commercialize and scale its 100 megawatt advanced sodium-cooled fast reactor, ARC-100. The funding will also support the company’s ongoing work with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), its collaboration agreement with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) for global aSMR deployment, and its Canada-based project development efforts supported by its strategic partner Hatch.

ARC Clean Technology CEO James Wolf stated:
“This investment reflects strong confidence in ARC’s progress and the ARC-100’s ability to deliver reliable, clean heat and power for energy-intensive industries and next-generation data centers. This financing enables us to accelerate our implementation efforts alongside partners in the U.S., Canada, and internationally.”

Cleantech Ventures Managing Director Eren Aşkın shared his views on the investment:
“ARC Clean Technology provides a true infrastructure solution at a time when global demand for clean, reliable, and scalable energy is rapidly increasing. Our investment in ARC strengthens our strategy around sustainability-focused technologies while reflecting our vision to support innovations that shape the future. We believe in the transformative potential of this technology and are pleased to support the ARC team at this critical stage of its global scale-up.”

Amar Jolly, Managing Director, Power from Hatch added:
“Hatch has been working closely with ARC since 2022 and we are pleased to see the significant progress the company has made in the deployment and commercialization of the ARC-100. Its high-temperature, zero-emission design makes it ideal for powering hyperscale data centers and heavy industry. We look forward to continuing our collaboration as ARC advances through commercialization.”
